As of the second week of August 2024 I have gone back to the old marking due to customer feedback;
0=zero gas
1=.040
2=.0469
3.052
4=.0525
This adjusts with a simple turn of the plug. With either an allen wrench or adjustable/box wrench. When the number is at the 12:00 position that is the port size it is on
Different setups require different amounts of gas depending on the actual gun itself, spring rate, suppressor generated back pressure and ammunition. This plug allows you the ability to “tune” your setup with the last amount of gas necessary to function, reducing gas feedback to the shooter. Your best method for tuning is to start on the largest port working backwards until the gun does not function then go up one click. You may need to adjust to more gas as the gun gets dirtier through the cycle.There is no one setting I can suggest for your setup with all the variables, it will require some testing by the end user. The plug insert is a consumable part and will erode over time as it is subjected to the hot chamber gasses which act as a type of plasma cutter. It will try to match the size of the port to the plug and erode the steel. this slows and still works as a funnel until eventually working all the way through. Erosion depends heavily on ammunition choice and suppression back pressure. There is not an alloy that I can machine that will prevent this/strong>

I ordered the 8″ Gen 2/3 ILWT MPX barrel in August. I finally got around to using it (due to ammo shortage) on Saturday, and it was outstanding. I swapped out a 4.5″ MPX barrel for the 8″, and the ILWT barrel was lighter and my groupings were incredible. I highly recommend this product for anybody looking to replace, upgrade or change their barrel lengths on an MPX. It is considerably less expensive than the Sig manufactured barrels and the quality is absolutely outstanding. Also, the 1/2-28 thread pitch is great if you are looking to add a muzzle device because 13.5-1 LH is sometimes difficult to find. Also, Rob’s customer service was exceptional. Bottom line – great product and great service! Thank you, ILWT.
Best regards,

I purchased the 4.5 inch barrel with 3 lug mount and restricted plugs for gen 3 MPX. With stock barrel, stock plug, 3 lug adaptor and an old SWR trident accuracy was abysmal. It was also doubling occasionally. I did’t shoot it unsuppressed but other hosts shot well with the same can and suppressor alignment with adaptor was good. Stock barrel may have been crap or perhaps it was overgassed and unlocking early. With the ILWT barrel and .0469 plug it will shoot about an inch at 25 yards which is a vast improvement. This is with a cheap red dot and minimal load testing. Reliability so far is 100% but I haven’t shot it a whole lot yet. Doubling has also stopped. Fit and finish is excellent. Rob is also very responsive to questions which is quite refreshing.

Purchased the 4.5″ Threaded barrel for my MPX Copperhead, Putting around 300 rounds through it this weekend and it runs flawlessly, Accuracy seems just as good as the original barrel, Zeroed at 25 Yards and getting 2 inch groups Rob has amazing customer service and has earned a lifetime customer.

I bought the Sig MPX K with the intention of shooting it suppressed. I started with a Griffen 3 lug adapter and quickly found out the accuracy was terrible. It was shooting 9-10 inch groups at 25 yards with Rugged Obsidian installed. I did some research and found the inleadwetrust barrel. I ended up getting the 4.5 inch with Tri Lug-1/2×28 with adjustable gas block. My 9-10 inch groups shrunk down to 1.5-2 inch groups at 25 yard. The adjustable gas block made shooting suppressed very enjoyable. I would recommend if you ever plan on shooting suppressed to pay the extra cash for adjustable gas block. Lastly Rob answered all my dumb question with no hesitation. Great Company

I had one of the defective MPX barrels and could get any consistent groupings. I contacted Rob and he helped me pick out a barrel and that totally fixed the issue. I was getting consistent groups and the gun was shooting great. I highly recommend this barrel if you have a defective MPX barrel!

I bought the 6.5 inch and was not disappointed. The quality was better than sig quality. I went from thinking about selling my mpx k to now enjoying it and not wanting to sell it. The accuracy was much better, even with attachments. Thank you Rob.

I have a MPX-K (latest generation) with the 4.5″ barrel using the SiCo ASR mount system with a SiCo 36M. The grouping was not the best. If I took the suppressor off, the grouping was a little better, but not what I would expect from a Sig, I purchased the ILWT 4.5″ tri-lug with adjustable gas block and what a difference this barrel system makes! Very little point of impact change, but shot groups are very good. I was so happy with this arrangement that I then purchased the 4″ tri-lug with adj gas for my MPX FDE Copperhead. This is the barrel that Sig should be putting on this gun! With the SiCo 36M attached, the groups are very tight and on this one there was NO point of impact change when attaching the suppressor! This gun went from one of my “not so fun to shoot” to one of my favorites! Rob is great to work with, the best customer service I have seen!

MPX-K Gen 3 (mid 2022 model)
6.5 trilug threaded standard gas plug
Dropped it in and resighted my dot. Hit a 4 inch gong at 50 yards without much effort and just resting on a couple of stacked 4×4’s. Could probably do better but its a pcc not a long range precision gun so thats good for me. Now just waiting on my longer hand guard to go over my suppressor (omega 36m). No regrets buying the 6.5inch, perfect length for velocity but not being too long once suppressed

I have an early MPX Gen 2. The factory 8” barrel was ok. From a rest I would get 2-3 inch groups at best, my AR9 shoots sub 1 inch groups from the same setup. I hand load my ammo and I could not get the accuracy any better. Adding a suppressor the accuracy remained the same but I would get weird POI shifts, probably barrel harmonics but it was different every time. Tried three different 3 lug adapters, no change. I finally decided to try the 8 inch 3 lug ILWT without the adjustable gas plug. This barrel prints consistent groups 1 inch or less, plus it is much less gassy than the factory. Just wish I would have done it sooner.

Due to my absolute obsession with my MCX I took a risk and got a decent deal on a 2nd gen MPX recently. Had horrible accuracy issues with the 4.5 inch stock barrel. tried three different tri-lugs and the moment any of them were installed went everywhere. Accuracy wasn’t so good with a raw barrel either. Sent to Sig for an accuracy test, they replaced both the barrel and the bolt for free + shipping (good on them) but again, the moment a tri-lug went on, accuracy went to hell.
Got a 6.5 ILWT barrel with tri-lug and adjustable gas. Instant 1 inch groups at 25 from a bag. Popping on a suppressor (Omega 36m) opened things up a bit, but since it was on a bag that could have been me. Best part, the 6.5 is about as long as the 4.5 with a tri-lug added. Stinks to invest even more into an expensive gun, but ILWT really nailed it. Great job. Went from a gun I was ready to flip to a gun I’m thinking I’ll SBR and keep forever.
Also, Rob’s customer service is amazing. He is shockingly responsive and engaged with his customers. I’m a happy customer.

I’m not big on words, so short and sweet. Quality and customer service are second to none. Very pleased with this barrel. Fit, finish and accuracy is incredible !!!! Outstanding product.

Purchased the 6.5″ barrel with adjustable gas block for my Sig MPX K. Was just so frustrated with the factory 4.5″ barrel when shooting suppressed. Inconsistent accuracy and too much gas in the face. Tried with Sig SRD9, Octane 9, and Omega 36M but nothing was satisfactory. The Omega 36M was quietest and less gas but because you cannot get a 13.5 x 1 LH mount, you have to use the ASR mount. That just made accuracy issue worst. Only using Federal American Eagle 147gr. The ILWT barrel was amazing. right out of the box shooting groups at 25 yards which I could cover with a quarter. My only regret is I did not upgrade this sooner as I could have saved then several hundred rounds trying to fix the Sig barrel issues. I went with the 6.5″ over the 8″ inch barrel as it fits perfectly in a small back pack. Rob is awesome when it comes to helping you out with a problem. Excellent service, excellent product.

After reading on the internet how great the In Lead We Trust Barrels are I decided to order the 4 1/2-in with the Tri Lug and Adjustable Gas Plug for my MPX Copperhead I wanted to run my SilencerCo Octane 9 with the Tri Lug and to avoid using an adaptor on the end of the barrel. But because I was in a hurry I never measured anything and sure as hell the Tri lug adapter from SilencerCo does not clear the hand guard on the Copperhead K so I purchased the 5 5/8-in barrel with the Tri Lug and the Adjustable Gas Plug and since I had a nice 4 and 1/2-in barrel laying around I went ahead and bought an MPX K. That is how good these barrels are that you will buy a new gun just to have a host for the barrel. The accuracy is the same if not better than the stock barrel. Where the ILWT Barrels shine is when shooting suppressed both in accuracy and gas control they are so much better than the stock barrel with the can attached either Tri Lug or Direct Thread. If you’re hesitant at all about getting this barrel I recommend go ahead and pull the trigger (Pun intended) In all of my ramblings I have not mentioned the outstanding customer service Rob is a great guy very responsive to emails and calls he even answers questions on the Face Book. They make shooting your MPX fun to shoot. That’s the best complement I can give.

Like everyone else who came here, I was having issues with the factory 4.5in barrel after I attached a tri-lug device and put a suppressor on it. I was getting inconsistent groupings and was quite irritated as I planned on only shooting the weapon suppressed. This has been my dream gun and so to finally get it and not enjoy shooting it was pretty disheartening. After months of research I kept seeing ILWT come up so I did more digging. Not only was everyone getting great results, but they mentioned how helpful Rob had been for the community. I finally bit the bullet and ordered an 8in barrel with the new adjustable gas plug and wow, what a difference. Took it out and I was immediately getting 1in groups at 25 and 50 yards. Substantially less gas after tuning it as well. One of the things I love most about firearms is the community and how passionate people are. It felt really good giving my money to another hard working American who has poured his passion into making a really great product. Don’t hesitate to pick up one of these barrels, they really are the best.
