Description
Replacement inserts for the short plug with the 5 settings now available as standalone parts and will utilize the existing sleeve and nut from your original order.
As of the second week of August 2024 I have gone back to the old marking due to customer feedback;
0=zero gas
1=.040
2=.0469
3.052
4=.0525
This was suggested to me as less complicated and more intuitive so I have changed it back. Sorry for any inconvenience
- 0.) wide open .0625
- 1.).0400
- 2.).0469
- 3.).0520
- No Marking= 0 gas
This adjusts with a simple turn of the plug. With either an allen wrench or adjustable/box wrench. When the number is at the 12:00 position that is the port size it is on
Different setups require different amounts of gas depending on the actual gun itself, spring rate, suppressor generated back pressure and ammunition. This plug allows you the ability to “tune” your setup with the last amount of gas necessary to function, reducing gas feedback to the shooter. Your best method for tuning is to start on the largest port working backwards until the gun does not function then go up one click. You may need to adjust to more gas as the gun gets dirtier through the cycle.There is no one setting I can suggest for your setup with all the variables, it will require some testing by the end user.
The plug insert is a consumable part and will erode over time as it is subjected to the hot chamber gasses which act as a type of plasma cutter. It will try to match the size of the port to the plug and erode the steel. this slows and still works as a funnel until eventually working all the way through. Erosion depends heavily on ammunition choice and suppression back pressure. There is not an alloy that I can machine that will prevent this
Please see tutorial HERE
Benefits are that you can “tune” your platform to your ammo for more reliable function and/or less gas feedback while shooting if you have an opened up port especially suppressed with “hotter” ammo
There are flats on the outer sleeve and a 1/4″ allen cap nut. You must hold the sleeve with a small adjustable wrench while tightening the 1/4″ cap nut. If you only tighten the cap nut without holding the sleeve the nut will come loose. It works as any other jam nut system

Gen II and “Gen 3” guns will only be able to utilize the more restrictive settings on the plug unless they have had the port opened to .0625. The larger settings will still click into position and function but will still be limited by the actual size of the port in the barrel itself. Gen 1 guns will be able to utilize all settings. My barrels, if ordered with large port will also be able to utilize all settings
All Gen II barrels are now shipping by default with ,055 gas port sizes which means you would have to have it opened up to .0625 in order to properly use this plug. If you are ordering a new barrel from me you can ask for it to have a .0625 port at no extra charge.-12/09/2018
There are no refunds for installed, marred or otherwise damaged parts unless you are claiming a defect.
